PBC Builders fundraiser for Mental Health Week



PBC Builder demonstrated a commitment to raising awareness for mental health during Mental Health Week by organizing a fundraising campaign in support of the Limerick Mental Health Association. Our company orchestrated an impactful event, wherein employees actively participated by abseiling down the side of Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick City. We were presented with a significant opportunity to spearhead the promotion and content creation for this initiative.


Our primary endeavor was the creation of a promotional poster, and during this process, we endeavored to capture the essence of the abseiling experience. To achieve this, we dissected the sport, identifying its core attributes and the language commonly associated with it. The keywords that resonated most profoundly with us were 'Energetic,' 'Rugged,' 'Action,' 'Adrenaline,' 'Downward,' and 'Alert.' Consequently, we chose to anchor our poster design around these pivotal terms.

When it came to selecting colors, our aim was to construct an invigorating color palette that would imbue the viewer with a sense of excitement and positive adrenaline. We opted for subdued variations of red, purple, blue, and yellow, meticulously chosen to stimulate these emotions within the viewer. To further enhance visual impact, we incorporated sharp-edged shapes and angles, guiding the viewer's focus and attention.



We integrated an image of an individual in mid-motion at a lower 3/4 angle to evoke a profound sense of adventure when glancing at the poster. Recognizing Thomond Park's widespread recognition and reputation, we strategically positioned 'Thomond Park' in bold white font as the primary headline, followed by the event date, ensuring a compelling initial hook for the viewer. Subsequently, we presented the event and charity names in vibrant yellow font with a bold stroke, intuitively leading the viewer to the subsequent information.

To facilitate this, we established an online donation account with iDonate.ie and designed sponsorship cards that employees could utilize for fundraising. Local publications, including the Limerick Leader, generously joined as event sponsors, with two of their employees participating in the abseiling event.


Expanding our promotional materials, we transformed the poster into a two-page information leaflet for distribution via email, print, and social media. This leaflet provided background information about the event, adding depth to the promotion.


Our social media campaign was instrumental in spreading the word. Leveraging various platforms, we shared the advert extensively, employing paid promotion features, word of mouth, and consistent event promotion over the ensuing weeks to encourage donations and fundraising.

In the end, our collective efforts resulted in the successful raising of over €6,000 for this important cause, encompassing both online and cash sponsorship's.
